Let's Get Started

Please follow the steps below to begin the volunteer application process for individuals and groups.

1. Step One
   Register Here to create an account in the volunteer portal. Select “Order Your Background Check” or “Good Deed” and enter the code ypcc94o when prompted. Fill out the required forms, enter your payment information, and submit. Background checks typically take  5–15 business days to process. Once completed, email  Frances Stephens at fstephens@sulzbacherjax.com to confirm.
2. Step Two 
   After your background check is approved, you’ll be scheduled for an orientation session. During orientation, you’ll learn about Sulzbacher’s mission, safety protocols, and your role as a volunteer.
3. Step Three
   Following orientation, you’ll be introduced to your department supervisor or point of contact based on your volunteer area. They will guide you through any additional training and help you get started—whether you’re serving meals, assisting with childcare, or supporting administrative work.
4. Step Four
   After your orientation, you will be ready to begin volunteering! Please Note:

• It can take up to 2 weeks to complete the entire process, but this is necessary to keep our residents safe
• We are unable to work with court-mandated volunteers
• Kids 13 to 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times
